Hi, I’m Michelle.
I’m a 43-year-old woman who knows what it feels like to lose yourself.
Over the years, I’ve navigated challenges that shaped me in ways I never expected, including losing a parent at a young age, divorce, emotional and sexual abuse, burnout, and the long, often frustrating journey of trying to heal. Like many women, I spent years searching for answers, trying different approaches, and wondering if I would ever feel like myself again.
For a long time, survival was my focus.
Healing looked different than I expected. It wasn’t a single breakthrough or a straight path forward. It was a series of small steps, hard lessons, moments of growth, and a willingness to keep going even when progress felt impossible. After years of exploring different forms of therapy and self-discovery, I eventually found an approach that helped me reconnect with myself and begin moving forward.
Today, I can honestly say I feel more like myself than I ever have.
That’s why I created From the ashes…
This blog is a space for honest conversations about trauma, healing, resilience, self-discovery, and what it means to rebuild your life after difficult experiences. Through personal stories, reflections, and interviews with therapists, researchers, advocates, and other thought leaders, I hope to explore the many paths that can lead to healing.
My goal isn’t to offer all the answers. It’s to create a space where women feel seen, understood, and less alone in their journey.
If you’ve ever felt stuck in your pain, disconnected from yourself, or uncertain about what’s next, I hope you’ll find encouragement here.
No matter what you’ve been through, healing is possible. And sometimes, the most powerful chapter of your life begins after everything has fallen apart.
Welcome to From the ashes….
